Smalljaw.com: This is a website with a large forum page where fishing and more fishing is the primary topic of discussion. It’s monitored, accurate,  and family oriented. Tennessee Outdoor News: This is an excellent free magazine that can be found at numerous businesses across Middle Tennessee. It is a 100 percent hunting and fishing publication owned by Tony and Misty Smotherman. Many local writers and photographers contribute to TON magazine. You can also check out TON’s website by visiting www.tnoutdoornews.com  and if you are outside of the magazine’s delivery area, you can get a subscription to it. A monthly magazine, this publication helps keep you caught up on many  outdoors happenings and it is full of good photographs.

United States Geological Survey: Get real time updates on the strength of water flow in your favorite river or creek. Not every stream is listed here, but many are across the state. Know the flow before you go. Click on the logo.

U.S. Corps Of Engineers: A federal agency that in its Nashville District manages the Cumberland River flow and its tributaries. The Corps site is full of excellent information about recreation that includes camping and fishing. It issues regular press releases to keep you up to date on what it is doing with dam repair, camp openings and closings, water levels, water temperatures, and much more. Visit it and look for daily lake reports on Tennessee lakes that include Percy Priest, Old Hickory, Cheatham, Cordell  Hull, Center Hill, and and Dale Hollow reservoirs. Tennessee Valley Authority: A federal agency that manages the water flow of Tennessee River and its tributaries. It also reports daily discharges below Tennessee and North Alabama dams, including those operated by the U.S. Corps of Engineers. It is the information from this website that that Doug reads every Saturday on radio so that anglers will know if their favorite reservoir is standing still, pushing, or pulling. It is how you can tell where you want to go trout fishing based on generation flow. Or, if the water below a dam is too perfect or too dangerous or rough for your kind of fishing. Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency: The state agency that governs hunting, fishing, and boating in Tennessee. You can learn about changes fish, hunt, and boat regulations by visiting this site; you can also read  annual hunting guides, and fishing guides so that you know creel and bag limits before you go fishing or hunting. You can purchase your licenses here, learn about hunter education courses, read surveys or studies about game and fish of interest, and much more. United States Naval Observatory: Moon Phases and more at this website. Keep an eye on where the moon phase will be when you get to go hunt, or fish.
