Vernon Summerlin and Doug Markham get to the water later than they had planned after a deer decided to jump in front of Vernon’s vehicle and his Old Man Boat. Then, the Corps of Engineers shuts down it generators and gates so that a crew can work on clearing debris away from the gates. Not an ideal start of the day, but Vern and Doug visit a favorite below the dam hole and the catfish bite is outstanding. It can be for you, too, below Old Hickory Dam or just about any dam in Tennessee.
